Anglia Marine Model Club was formed in 1994 by a few boat enthusiasts in the Northampton / Wellingborough area. Since then the club has continually grown. We are a very relaxed club and welcome both single members and families.
We take great pleasure in displaying our boats at local rallies and gatherings throughout the year. Our mobile pool also allows us to sail at these events plus giving us the opportunity to raise money for charity and the club by charging a token amount for members of the public to use our “have a go” club boats. When not at shows we also have the use of a local pond where we gather and sail most Saturday afternoons depending on the weather.
Committee
The club is for the members and is guided by a small committee. Each year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) all club members have the opportunity to vote to re-elect existing committee members or vote in new ones that have been nominated.
The committee guide the club throughout the year organising finances, events and the club communications.
The current committee members are:
- President: Tom Lockhart
- Chairman: Robin Yates
- Secretary: Laura Fletcher
- Treasurer: Meriol Smart
- Events Secretary: Geoff Fletcher
